About
ABOUT US
We are a multidisciplinary group of scientists and educators with extensive experience in research. With backgrounds ranging from Biomedical Sciences to Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biomaterials, educational research and innovation, and removing barriers to equitable success in science and related fields. Our team is committed to advancing and launching highly-qualified trainees into the next stage of their careers.
Along with national and international collaborators from academic and research institutions, non-profit organizations, and industry partners, we have established INTBIOTECH, an INTerdisciplinary Training in BIOmedical TECHnologies program. This is part of the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) initiative of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
INTBIOTECH offers equitable opportunities to support students and researchers who are passionate about Biomedical Sciences and Technologies. We will provide professional training within a truly interdisciplinary, diverse, flexible, bilingual, academic, and scientific environment. Our approach will ultimately lead to overcoming the current obstacles to the clinical application of biomedical engineered technologies.
OUR GOALS
To restructure the academic & professional preparation of highly qualified personnel (HQP)
To position Canada as a leader for training in the field of biomanufacturing for tissue engineering & organ repair
To increase educational equity!

CREATE program on INterdisciplinary Training in BIOmedical TECHnologies
This CREATE program will offer an integrated and comprehensive training to the next generation of Interdisciplinary Biomedical Technology Scientists
Unique to this program will be the use of innovative teaching and learning approaches for optimizing interdisciplinary learning with researchers of international stature, combined with interactive educational innovation. To do so, we will leverage modern learning theories, high impact pedagogies, and available educational research on interdisciplinary environments, which is currently underused, particularly at the graduate level. Further, we will increase our findings’ impacts to the greater scientific community by making our training materials available as Open Education Resources (OERs), such as eCampusOntario
